KPR&T presents at the GCC Laboratory Proficiency Conference
Under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Ali bin Masood bin Ali Al Sunaidi, Minister of Commerce and Industry of the Sultanate of Oman, the GCC Standardization Organization (GSO) organized the GCC Laboratory Proficiency Conference on 26-27 February 2019 in Muscat. The 5th GCC Laboratory Proficiency Conference focused on the petroleum and petrochemical sector as one of the main economic sectors in the member countries. The conference has addressed in eight scientific sessions, all aspects related to the infrastructure supporting the quality of laboratories. The conference provided excellent tool to exchange information to enhance laboratory performance indicators. GSO is providing support for laboratories to participate in proficiency tests where laboratories can evaluate their individual test performance against the Industry standard.
The collaboration of GSO with other standardization organizations around the world is very important. GSO has signed a technical agreement with the European standardization organisation CEN. As chair of CEN/TC 19 on petroleum products, KPR&T was invited to give a presentation on CEN and the collaboration with GSO.
